ATI MOBILITY 128 AGP 2X COMPAQ DRIVER
Sorry I can't help Old Pink, I haven't had much luck my self Isn't a clean install an option" hack method ; I'm still unsuccessful at activating the dri, but with the double buffer and the updated xorg i got from gusty, I'm able to get ATI Mobility 128 AGP 2X COMPAQ improvements to the point I'm now able to watch youtube quality. I hope this helps you with your card cause I think I'm waiting until gusty to see if the devs are going too compile the module on their own, before I attempt to do it myself Direct Rendering on Mach64 Feisty This is a script to use as a last resort, when all other guides have failed!
It is meant to be easy but it does use snapshots that are over ATI Mobility 128 AGP 2X COMPAQ year old so may cause problems later.
This script is OLD. Copy and paste into terminal code: Troubleshooting linux-image k7 has been obsoleted by: Static buffer allocation failed. Disabling DRI.
At least xxxxx kB of video memory needed at this resolution and depth. Change your bit depth to 16 instead of the default This post is a place holder that ATI Mobility 128 AGP 2X COMPAQ me to post working cards to the above script http: Since I can't make out what went wrong, Here's some details on my card: Direct rendering disabled I think it is very unlikely that you will get this working on this card.
Agp: (nvidia nv video agp) agp to pci-e adapter
Let me know what you find out. Good Luck Doug. I do not recommend the use of dougfractal's above script.
It rendered my system unusable, with Xorg broken, the ati driver package broken and no means of restoring it, with the backups all pointing to the destroyed ati driver. I had to download xserver-xorg-video-all and xserver-xorg-video-ati onto a memory stick from my other computer, ATI Mobility 128 AGP 2X COMPAQ them on the laptop in terminal then use sudo dpkg -i to reinstate them. Without another computer or a cable connection, and decent knowledge of terminal commands, you will not be able to recover your system, and may be forced to reinstall.
Just hold out for an appearance in Gutsy, or use Mepis. It worked without any problems!
Yes Glxgears LibGL warning: But iDX has confirmed that it works for your card with no problems, so there is nothing more that i can do. I guess iDX had a fresh feisty install, as i believe that problem is in damage to the files from previous attempts or incomplete troubleshooting. ATI Mobility AGP 2X (COMPAQ) free download.
